VATSIM SPORTS
Mission:
To develop and organize virtual air sports for enjoyment and improving flying skills.
What we do is unique for pilots since nobody else creates an opportunity to participate in competitions on a regular basis. Also we stay international so we fly all over the globe and keep nice variety of locations. We create awards, ratings and videos to help pilots have fun and improve flying skills. This works for everyone, experienced and non-experienced competitors.
Note: we are not official part or department of VATSIM Network, we do not belong to any vACC; we use the “VATSIM” name with approval from officials.
AIR RALLY
FOR GENERAL AVIATION
The Air Rally competition is a single crew operation long-term event that lasts 14 days. It is based on real-world FAI Precision Flying.
Participating in Air Rally pilots compete with each other in two main skills: en-route time precision and soft landing. Firstly pilots declare estimated time en-route (ETE) calculated by their own; pilots then fly a rally leg trying to follow declared timing as accurate as they can to arrive on-time. Arriving to destination competitors need to show how soft they can land an aircraft in terms of vertical speed at touchdown.
Of course, as a tournament it needs to have some awards: there are 3 medals for individual standings – Gold, Silver and Bronze; also Cup for the best team. Special prizes can be provided by our partners.
The Air Rally events are organized twice a year since May 2018.
